New law in France bans Wi-Fi in childcare facilities, bans cell phone advertising targeting children under 14, and requires hand-free kits be recommended

Highlights:

1. Anyone who intends to build one or more radio installations regulated
by the ANFR (France’s equivalent of the FCC) must submit to the local
government, if requested by the mayor, calculations of electromagnetic
fields that will be generated. This information must be made available
to the public.

2. A national dialogue committee on levels of public exposure to
electromagnetic fields is created within the ANFR. This committee will
give information to all stakeholders. The ANFR will give annual reports
to the dialogue committee on the results of all electromagnetic field
measurements in France as well as measures taken to reduce exposure
levels at “atypical” locations where the levels are greater than usual.
The ANFR will compile a annual census of atypical exposure locations and
periodically report on measures taken to reduce exposure at such
locations.

3. Within one year from today, the ANFR will produce a municipal-level
map of all cell towers in France.

4. Any advertisement for cell phones must mention, clearly and legibly,
the recommended use of an accessory device that reduces exposure of the
head to radio frequency radiation. Violators are subject to a fine of
75,000 euros.

5. Advertisements promoting the use of cell phones without such
accessories are prohibited. Violators are subject to a fine of 75,000
euros.

6. Anyone selling a cell phone must provide, upon request, an accessory
designed for children under 14 years of age that reduces exposure of the
head to radio frequency radiation.

7. Wireless internet is prohibited in places dedicated to the welcome,
rest, and activities of children under 3 years of age.

8. Wireless access for internet in elementary schools must be disabled
when not in use for teaching.

9. One year from today, the government shall submit to the Parliament a
report on electromagnetic hypersensitivity.

Common Cause-NY Wants Anti-Corruption Commission to Review Big Telecom’s Political Contributions

An older but still pertinent article…

Common Cause-NY Wants Anti-Corruption Commission to Review Big Telecom’s Political Contributions

It certainly goes a way towards explaining why then Energy Committee chair Senator George Maziarz walked out 5 minutes into a 2011 briefing on wireless health hazards given to a group of Senate majority leaders, telling the presenter “You would get further if you didn’t talk about health.  Nobody wants to hear it.”

Digital Electronic “Internet of Things”(IoT) and “Smart Grid Technologies” to Fully Eviscerate Privacy

http://www.globalresearch.ca/digital-electronic-internet-of-things-and-smart-grid-technologies-to-fully-eviscerate-privacy/5428595

“The “Internet of Things” (IoT) and Smart Grid technologies will together be aggressively integrated into the developed world’s socioeconomic fabric with little-if-any public or governmental oversight. This is the overall opinion of a new report by the Federal Trade Commission….

…Yet in the home and workplace the profusion of wireless technologies such as ZigBee will compound the already significant collective radiation load of WiFi, cellular telephony, and the smart meter’s routine transmissions. The short term physiological impact will likely include weakened immunity, fatigue, and insomnia that can hasten terminal illnesses.[8]

Perhaps the greatest irony is how the Internet of Things, the Smart Grid and their attendant “Smart Home” are sold under the guise of convenience, personal autonomy, even knowledge production and wisdom. “The more data that is created,” Cisco gushes, “the more knowledge and wisdom people can obtain. IoT dramatically increases the amount of data available for us to process. This, coupled with the Internet’s ability to communicate this data, will enable people to advance even further.”[9]

In light of the grave privacy and health-related concerns posed by this techno tsunami, the members of a sane society might seriously ask themselves exactly where they are advancing, or being compelled to advance to.?”

Bombshell 2010 Email from then-CA Public Utilities Commission chief to PG&E

Then CPUC-head Mike Peevey to PG&E:

One thought for the company: If it were my decision I would let anyone who wants to keep their old meter keep it, if they claim they suffer from EMF and/or related electronic-related illnesses and they can produce a doctor’s letter saying so (or expressing concern about the likelihood of suffering same). I would institute such a policy quietly and solely on an individual basis. There really are people who feel pain, etc., related to EMF,etc., and rather than have them becoming hysterical, etc., I would quietly leave them alone. Kick it around. And, it sounds like the company may already have taken this step, based on a couple of the comments at yesterday’s public hearing.

It appears he felt comfortable sharing this info to an organization he is supposed to be regulating that in the past he gave guidance on how to dodge a public information request and with whom he is now embroiled in a federal investigation regarding “wink-and-a-nod” dealings over the San Bruno pipeline explosion:

Suffolk County, NY to post notices that Wi-Fi routers are in use or even label them specifically

While the bill merely requires all county buildings to post notices that wireless routers are in use, Suffolk County, NY may in practice put signs right at the locations of the routers — this is TBD.

Orange County, NY passed a resolution 19-2 in 2011 calling on the federal government to investigate health hazards of Wi-Fi, cell towers and smart meters.  That bill originally called for posting the transmitter-free zone decal featured on this website in the County Building, but the provision failed by one vote out of committee.

Legislators like Melissa Bonacic, daughter of State Senator Bonacic, thought there was a “legal issue” notwithstanding the fact that the measure simply would have implemented the Access Board Guidelines proffered in their 2005 Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) report written in conjunction with the National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS).  The report explained that hard-wired connections would keep a building accessible; barring that the Wi-Fi was to be confined by foil-backed drywall.

By the time that resolution was passed the County Building got soaked by a hurricane and then by a tropical storm a year later, and it hasn’t been used since.   Right now Bonacic and colleagues operate out of the County 911 Building which has so many Wi-Fi transmitters, even the lights in the auditorium are controlled by them.  The county 911 tower is right on the premises, and the County facilities are now wholly inaccessible to anyone with electromagnetic sensitivity and are unhealthy for those who work on the premises.  Another County facility leased on Matthews Street in Goshen has cell transmitters on the roof, so the County in fact does have a “legal issue” because of its failure to preserve the previously electromagnetically hygienic facility.

Key provisions from the aforementioned IEQ report:

The NIBS-IEQ Materials Committee recognizes that there are selections that can be made during building design and construction that can provide a more healthful environment for persons with electromagnetic sensitivities.  A few of these considerations are: (Pg. 87)

* Incorporation of foil vapor barrier or other metal shielding feature into the walls around electric equipment can reduce certain electromagnetic fields. (Pg. 87)

Wireless (“Bluetooth” type) connections should be avoided, or areas of their use should be “contained” by using foil-backed drywall or other incorporation of a foil or metal barrier………. (Pg. 88)

Fiber optic connectivity is preferred for computer networks communication because these data lines may be run without concern for stray emissions…(Pg.88)

*By making indoor environments that are safer for the most vulnerable among us, we can create indoor environments that are healthier for everyone, especially children(Pg. 87)

Wireless Technology in Restaurants: retina scan technology at Pizza Hut; unexpected economic and social effects of Wi-Fi

In the Ed Snowden-is-laughing department or perhaps some kind of cross between The Twilight Zone and 1984, Pizza Hut is deploying retina scan technology that will suggest an order for you based on the ingredients on a “smart” phone App you seem most fixated with.  Pizza Hut terms this advancement in modern civilization, “subconscious ordering”:

Wi-Fi appears to have slown down the whole dining experience with people checking their phones before ordering, making waiters run around boosting the Wi-Fi to feed their addiction and chit-chatting with the waiters their Instagram, Pinterest and Facebook.  It took one restaurant hiring a business consultant to figure out why they were less efficient than they had been a decade earlier:
